Palm Court Front of Hotel in Dusk

From redevelopment to results: Palm Court Hotel & Suites

Palm Court Hotel & Suites has completed its first full summer season, with bookings secured into 2027, growing press coverage and a Bronze Award in the holidaycottages.co.uk Showcase Awards 2026 for Best Renovation or Transformation.

For Ben Williams Consultancy, its success represents much more than the transformation of a property.

Palm Court brings together many of the different areas we work across — property redevelopment, project management, design, hospitality, business development, marketing and PR — and shows what can be achieved when these elements are considered together.

Transforming the property

The project began with the redevelopment of a traditional guesthouse in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight.

The aim wasn’t simply to refurbish an existing hotel. The property was completely reimagined around a different way for families and groups to stay together, combining the space and flexibility of a luxury holiday home with the facilities and experience of a boutique hotel.

The redevelopment created flexible suite-based accommodation for groups of up to 23 guests, alongside facilities including a private bar, cinema room, games room, gym, sauna and heated outdoor pool.

Sustainability was also incorporated into the transformation, with improvements including enhanced insulation, solar energy and heat pump systems.

Around 95% of the work was delivered using local trades, supporting businesses and skills on the Isle of Wight.

From property development to hospitality business

Completing the physical transformation was only one part of the project.

The next challenge was turning the property into a successful hospitality business with a clear proposition, recognisable brand and strong presence in the market.

BWC’s involvement therefore continued beyond the redevelopment, supporting the development and positioning of Palm Court and delivering its ongoing marketing and communications.

That has included developing the brand and guest proposition, creating content, promoting the suites and facilities, supporting guest communications and building awareness through PR and media activity.

A successful first full summer

Palm Court has now completed its first full summer season and is already taking bookings into 2027.

The story of the transformation and the hotel’s early success has also attracted growing media attention, including coverage in Hotel Owner and the Island Echo.

That success has now received industry recognition too, with Palm Court receiving a Bronze Award for Best Renovation or Transformation in the holidaycottages.co.uk Showcase Awards 2026.

The awards celebrate standout holiday properties across the UK and Ireland, with designer and television presenter Kevin McCloud MBE joining the 2026 judging panel.

The award is a fantastic recognition of the vision and work that went into transforming Palm Court and establishing the business it has become today.

Growing our work on the Isle of Wight

Palm Court has also become an important part of BWC’s own growth.

What began as a major property redevelopment has developed into ongoing work spanning hospitality, business development, marketing and PR, while helping us establish and expand our presence on the Isle of Wight.

For us, Palm Court demonstrates the value of looking beyond an individual build or renovation and considering what the property needs to become a successful business once the work is complete.

From the first stages of redevelopment to welcoming guests, securing bookings, generating press coverage and receiving industry recognition, it has been a project we’re incredibly proud to be part of.

And the story is still developing.
